On the other hand, if you enjoy the quietness, the pristine beauty of an unspoiled beach, dazzling blue skies with calm waters,then maybe you should consider this unusual 9 1/2 acre island  only 3/4 mile off-shore from long island, this area is totally unspoiled. yet when you take a 10 minuteboat trip, you are within walking distance of a supermarket, car rental, and other amenities.  the rental usually includes three meals per week, cooked by the housekeeper at her home. you mayboat over and eat at her private dining room or you may take the cooked fresh meal back to the cay in an insulated container.  a complimentary bonefishing trip is generally included in the rental, but if you prefer bottom fishing, please advise us  whatever your tastes in recreation, it is all there for you. or just enjoy the beach and its thatched gazebo and "vegetate" with some good books and music  the 3 bedroom home is comfortable for 6 adults and up to 2+ children. it is most popular for just one couple. it is very private and skinny-dipping is ok.  although little deadman's cay is no everyone's "cup of tea", it is ideal for the busy executive, the writer, the birder, the artist and the lover.  in the bahamas, we never run out of things to do, unless we want to! Little Deadman's Cay is a private 9 1/2 acre island with just one beachfront home. It is a private cay without resident staff since they all live on the main island (Long Island) within a mile away. We thus have complete privacy/seclusion. Little Deadman's Cay is a historical site. The first settler was a sailor who shipwrecked and made his way to the cay and built a home there, having married an Indian woman from the main island. Our home is built on the site of the original dwelling. The island has a main beach and two small beach coves. In addition, it is within walking distance of an undeveloped peninsula 12 mi long with a continuous beach. There are three main swimming areas on the private island: beach side, snorkeling side, and on the western end with two olympic-sized swimming pools made by natural channels. This is a great fishing area. Flyfishing is also very popular in this area as one can wade the flats easily. A designated taxi driver can be arranged for pick-up and return to airport, shopping at general store, etc. Telephone numbers of various fisherman in the area will be provided. The house has a great room, 2 bedrooms with double beds and one bedroom with twin/king beds. Indoor complete bathroom with tub, shower, etc and outdoor shower and additional "john". Kitchen is complete with refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, and completely equipped with dishes, pots and pans, and even cloth napkins! Amenities include fireplace, ceiling and portable fans, two patios with sea view from either side. VHF radio-telephone, cell phone, VCR, art and craft supplies for guests' use. Electric pump. Tape/CD deck. Gazebo on beach with lounges.
