Description of Sugar Bay House:

Designed in the traditional West Indian style, this home is one of the finest on St. Croix. Set like a jewel atop a breezy ridge with sea views that go on forever, Sugar Bay House is superbly furnished with elegant mahogany antiques and finished with elegance. Built as two pavilions fronting onto the large, sunny pool deck and its alfresco dining cabana, one pavilion houses the air-conditioned, sumptuous master suite complete with romantic queen four-poster bed, wet bar, and sitting room. The adjacent main pavilion offers the Great Room with vaulted ceiling, the dining area and kitchen, plus a second air-conditioned master suite with a four-poster king bed, and two additional air-conditioned bedroom suites, each with twin beds. Relax and watch a movie in the elegant Great Room from an overstuffed armchair, or create gourmet meals in the superbly-equipped kitchen or on the built-in gas grill on the terrace, and dine in style at the nine-foot mahogany table. Tucked between the Great Room and the pool courtyard is Sugar Bay House's gathering place - the comfortable and completely equipped solid mahogany bar which overlooks inspiring ocean views. French doors open directly from all rooms to the sweeping pool deck for lounging and tanning. An architectural dream, beautifully appointed, and overlooking wonderful blue vistas of the Caribbean - perfect for a memorable vacation, a wedding or family reunion!

Rental Notes

Twin beds can be made into kings with advance notice SATURDAY-to-SATURDAY RENTALS ONLY REQUIRED IN HIGH SEASON. Peter, Sugar Bay's experienced caretaker/manager is on the premises should you need him, in a separate apartment below, but of course your privacy is always assured. Sugar Bay House is available for weddings, family reunions, meetings and other functions or parties: Parties are limited to a maximum of 40 persons (but only a maximum of 8 persons may stay at the villa overnight). For functions, the villa rents at the maximum (7- to 8-person) seasonal rate, PLUS a surcharge of $750 for holding the function at Sugar Bay House. The fully-refundable damage deposit increases to $1000 for all functions. No events may be held the day before departure, but must be scheduled earlier during your stay. All details and plans for your function, including a full list of outside personnel (caterers, wedding planning company and staff, etc.) MUST be fully disclosed to us in writing well before your arrival!
