Situated in the open countryside just outside Florence , Tuscan XV has been completely and lovingly restored and turned into a beautiful and comfortable holiday home featuring Tuscan antiques and ceramics. The house is part of a large estate, which includes a 17th century villa. This cozy hideaway is ideal for families and couples who wish to visit Florence and the nearby Tuscan towns as well as relax in the beautiful countryside just outside the city center.
What to do while staying at Tuscan XV:
Tuscany stretches along the western coast of Italy from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its greatest art centers are Florence , Pisa , and Siena . Surrounded by hills, Florence rises on the banks of the Arno River and offers some of Italy's best shopping. Textiles, leather goods, fashion, jewelry and ceramics are all specialties. Florence is also home to Michelangelo's “Pieta,” and “David ,” as well as the Uffizi gallery, probably the most important art gallery in the world. Enjoy a morning coffee and truffle panini in Florence most celebrated bar: Procacci , before setting out for a serious morning of shopping in Via Tournabuorni . Scour the Gucci, Armani and Yves Saint Laurent outlets on the outskirts of Florence.
Siena is a beautifully preserved Medieval city, constructed of checkerboard brick, and crowned by its Duomo . It was the seat of the Ghibellines who often crossed swords with the Florentine Guelfs during the 13th century. Other highlights of Siena include the beautiful Piazza del Campo , and the tower rising from the Palazzo Pubblico . Speaking of towers, a day trip to Pisa is also a must.
One of the best ways to see Tuscany is by automobile. The small fortress cities are within easy driving distance of one other, and each offers its own special appeal, from San Gimignano to Pienza . Other cities to add to your excursion are Arezzo, with its grand plaza and Roman amphitheater, Lucca, with its olive groves and impressive Renaissance Walls, and seaside resorts like Viareggio, Elba, and Forte de Marmi.
