The fully furnished outside loggia (pool veranda) offers shade on hot hazy afternoons for guests to relax and take in the garden and the breathtaking views. The splendid, mosaic tiled, infinity pool has its own spa bath, is one depth and has sweeping Roman steps leading into it for simple access. The pool sun terrace is paved in marble and terracotta. The extensive Mediterranean garden features charming winding terracotta walkways, vast green lawn areas and the prettiest thyme, rose and lavender borders. The gardens and pool are all illuminated in the evenings. Nevertheless the impressive hilltop location affords spectacular, sweeping 360° views that stretch literally for miles across its estate to the neighboring towns and villages.
Not to be missed in your area: visit to San Gimignano and the magic Volterra
Atop one of the hills that dominate the Elsa Valley, stands San Gimignano, the ancient medieval city, which still preserves its roots and its works of art. Highlights which must be seen are the Collegiate Church, one of the most famous in the world, containing frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli and Ghirlandaio, and the Museo Civico with its collection of apothecary jars from the Spezieria di Santa Fina. Besides its famous Vernaccia wine, San Gimignano’s many shops offer the products of typical Tuscan artisans, marked by the skill and tradition handed down from father to son, from boar sausages to cheeses, from terracotta to hand-made pottery, to leather goods.
The “magic and mysterious” city of Volterra has its roots in three thousand years of history. It is possible to find evidence and traces from every historical period, which gives the artistic city a unique aspect. Volterra, besides being city of many museums, it is rich in natural beauty. There are organized excursions on foot, on horse back or by bicycle along kilometers of sign posted itineraries enabling visitors to discover unique and beautiful places. Volterra is also famous for the regional gastronomical specialties and for the warm hospitality offered to visitors. During the summer period there are many cultural events like the annual festival Volterra Teatro, classical and contemporary music concerts, exhibitions and folklore events that enable visitors to enjoy a rich and varied holiday.
